Q&A session of candidates for WI Lt. Gov. Dave Ross & U.S. Senate Dave Westlake

Hooty's Steakhouse Bar & Grill (map)

Selected By: John Meegan

Wisconsin Lt. Governor candidate Dave Ross and U.S. Senate candidate Dave Westlake have graciously agreed to come to Baraboo and be interviewed/vetted by the Sauk County Tea Party. As a service to our community, this event is open to the public.

The purpose of a vetting session is for the public to ask tough questions of candidates, allowing people in our community to base their own conclusions on the face-to-face candidate response. Community members will have the opportunity to become informed on issues important to them. They may then make an informed decision and respond at their discretion before, during and after election time.

After a brief introduction by the candidate, the format will be similar to a town hall meeting. So, bring a friend or two and your toughest questions!

This session should not be considered an endorsement either for or against any candidate.

Lots of good thoughtful questions and concerns. Both of the candidates did a nice job presenting their platforms and responding to our concerns. Looking forward to more Q&A sessions.

Dave Ross's knowledge on fiscal matters is impressive. I think I trust his common sense approach. If he could push our state government to be more fiscally responsible in even a few of the areas he mentioned that would be quite welcome. I need more information from Dave Westlake. Not sure he has accumulated the life experience for the U.S. Senate but am willing to keep an open mind.

I think Dave Ross is the real deal. I think he would be the first Lt. Gov that I know that would come in to office with a real purpose in mind. He as a plan and a vision. I will strongly suport him. As far as Senate candidate Westlake is concerned, I don't feel as good about him he didn't get in to the best part of his thoughts (Tax Reform) until 50 minutes in to his presentation. If that was the heart of his message he did not present it as that. He also doesn't have an understanding of the Muslim religion if he thinks they could be appeased with money, or a better living standard by helping them build up their infarstructure ( they don't care), to them it is all about sending spirits to (Alla) (not spelled right) and they don't care if it is died or alive. For someone with a Military back round he needs to spend more time in school (or maybe not).
